What a heartwarming story!
God works in mysterious ways after all. You know what a sneaky little devil he can be sometimes. He can't afford to do anything that might give himself away. If he did, there wouldn't be any need for faith or freewill and that would certainly screw up his divine plan that most of humanity will suffer in Hell for eternity.
